Dr. Komal Rao is a Pro MMA Athlete who competes in a no holds barred fight locked inside a cage. She is one of the few women Mixed Martial art competitors from India. She is also a MMA club owner, MMA coach and competitor from India.
She shot to fame as “Woman of Steel” when she became one of the handful women in the world to defeat a German male challenger in a internationally acclaimed MMA cage fight in Germany.
Dr. Komal Rao participated in Young Blood Night 9 and was slotted to fight Elke Beinwach, Germanys famous female fighter on 3 June 2017 in the 52 kg category, however when Elke didn’t turn up for the fight she agreed to fight Nikes from Guardian Gym Germany in the 60 kg category. She won by submission in the second round using a rear naked choke. Dr. Komal Rao is also the only Indian woman to have defeated a male in an MMA cage fight
